Our founder's journey to save children from a failing system
Michael Strong discovered that the majority of children are miserable in school for no fault of their own. Traditional schools are teaching students what to think rather than nurturing their minds. As a result, they become bored, depressed, and disengaged.
Michael developed a technique called “Socratic Practice” that awakens the minds of his students and fans the flame of their interests. This approach is found in many of the elite institutions but is all but missing from public schools.

Novice Program
Our Novice program serves students ages 8-11. It is based on Montessori principles adapted to a virtual environment, including rich learning activities both online and offline. We’ve carefully created a set of experiences that combine personalized learning, Socratic dialogue, and offline learning experiences that develop your child’s heart and mind within a warm community, ensuring both personal well-being and academic success.
Middle School
Our middle school addresses the essential needs of children in this highly sensitive transitional phase of development. Students integrate Socratic dialogue on texts with conversations and one-on-one coaching on personal growth. Our STEM program allows for radical personalization along with group problem-solving experiences that engage curiosity while developing thinking skills needed for superior SAT performance in high school. Our Wednesday program combines art, music, and tech experiences to complement our academic core.
High School
Our high school provides one of the most personalized programs anywhere. It combines ongoing Socratic and personal growth conversations and one-on-one coaching with increasingly sophisticated personal projects based on student interests. With streamlined graduation requirements, students can take courses which are both interesting and relevant to their post-high school plans rather than being forced into a one-size fits all school program. We provide the best of community and individual choice.
